Songs of my Heart

I've been feeling some very strong feelings around these two songs as of late and I just wanted to share the lyrics, because not everyone memorizes songs as I do, and they couldn't understand for their own sakes what I was talking about it. So here, with proper credit, are the songs that i'm listening to.

Bare Naked Ladies - Call & Answer
Words & Music by Stephen Duffy & Steven Page

I think it's getting to the point
where I can be myself again, I think
it's getting to the point
where we have almost made amends
I think it's the getting to the point
that is the hardest part.

If you call, I will answer
and if you fall, I'll pick you up
and if you court this disaster
I'll point you home
I'll point you home

You think I only think about you
when we're both in the same room, you think
I'm only here to witness
the remains of love exhumed
You think were here to play
the game of who loves more than whom

If you call, I will answer
and if you fall, I'll pick you up
and if you court this disaster...

You think it's only fair to do what's
best for you and you alone, you think
it's only fair to do the same
to me when you're not home
I think it's time to make this something that is
more than only fair

So if you call, I will answer
and if you fall, I'll pick you up
and if you court this disaster
I'll point you home

But I'm warning you, don't ever do
Those crazy, messed-up things that you do
If you ever do I promise you
I'll be the first to crucify you
Now it's time to prove that you've come back
Here to rebuild.

The other song that is on my mind, is a little harder to sing, remember and understand. However it also fits the bill to a "T" and I work hard on it every day. Following here are the lyrics to this timeless classic.

Words & Music: Stephen Stills
Suite: Judy Blue Eyes
Performed by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young @ Woodstock

It's getting to the point where I'm no fun any more
I am sorry
Sometimes it hurts so badly I must cry out loud
I am lonely

I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are
You make it hard

Remember what we've said and done and felt about each other
Oh, babe, have mercy
Don't let the past remind us of what we are not now
I am not dreaming

I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are
You make it hard

Tearing yourself away from me now, you are free
And I am crying
This does not mean I don't love you, I do, that's forever
Yes, and for always

I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are
You make it hard

Something inside is telling me that I've got your secret
Are you still listening
Fear is the lock, and laughter the key to your heart
And I love you

I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are
You make it hard... hard
And you make it hard
And you make it hard

Friday evening
Sunday in the afternoon
What have you got to lose
Tuesday morning
Please be gone, I'm tired of you
What have you got to lose

Can I tell it like it is
Help me I'm suffering
But listen to me baby
It's my heart that's suffering
Help me, I'm dying...
It's dyin' and that's what I have to lose
... to lose

I've got an answer
I'm going to fly away
What have I got to lose?
Will you come see me
Thursdays and Saturdays
What have you got to lose

Chestnut brown canary
Ruby throated sparrow
Sing a song, don't be long
Thrill me to the marrow

Lacy lilting lyric
Ring around the moonlight
Asking me, said she so free
How can you catch the sparrow

Lacy lilting lyric
Losing love lamenting
Change my life, make it right
Be my lady

Que linda me la traiga Cuba
La reina de la Mar Caribe
Quiero solo visitarla alli
Y que triste que no puedo vaya
O va, va

{How beautiful it would be to bring me to Cuba
The queen of the Caribbean
I only want to visit you there
And how sad that I can't go
Oh go, go!}

I want to personally thank Stephen Stills, Stephen Duffy & Steven Page for writing these songs that say exactly how I feel and allow me to express my sadness, my frustration and my new will to carry on with a medium I love to use. I sing them to myself wherever I am. They are not only deeply meaningful songs but also catchy and will drive themselves into your brain. I want to share my sympathy with the three Steve's. You guys must all have had some nasty breakups to have been able to write these songs.

On a different note, now that I have these lyrics posted, I'm going to post my own analysis of these lyrics based on my new understanding of Taoism, The 4 Agreements and personal experience.

Look for these songs, get them, and really listen to them hard. You'll know where I am when you do.
